BUS MAINTAINER (CHASSIS)

Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MaBSTOA) & MTA Bus Company

  

EXAM NO: 3002 FILING PERIOD: 12/2/09 - 1/26/10

  

SALARY: $26.3925 per hour for MaBSTOA; $20.0515 per hour for MTA Bus Company; for a 40-hour work week with increments to $28.6450 per hour for both agencies after three years. Night and weekend differentials.

  

JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintain and repair all vehicle systems, components, and accessories.

  

REQUIREMENTS: Three years of experience at the mechanic (journey) level repairing automobiles, trucks, buses, or aircraft; AND graduation from a trade/vocational high school/accredited college in automotive mechanics or related field. Please see the Notice of Exam (NOE) for other acceptable combinations of education/experience.

 

AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT, APPLICANTS MUST HAVE EITHER:

• A CLASS B COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE; OR

• A MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSE & CDL PERMIT;

BOTH WITH A PASSENGER ENDORSEMENT AND NO RESTRICTIONS, VALID IN NEW YORK STATE.
